My Fascination of the process of creation and transformation is inspired by the constant changes of nature.

Inspired by the ever-changing beauty of Hawaii, my work tells playful, thought-provoking stories shaped by nature’s constant transformation.

"The ocean and its shores are my playground and a place to reset my thoughts as I look for the next piece of marine debris."

"The ocean and its shores are my playground and a place to reset my thoughts as I look for the next piece of marine debris."

I visualize the story of the buoy and I begin to carve my own story into it. There are no patterns to tollow, I just recreate a new story to share just as the ocean shares with me.
It takes me beyond the shorelines and connects me with people and places.

Each buoy has its own patina and scars from its journey at sea. Just as everyone has their own story, I recognize the story in every buoy I find.

I'm an artist living in Hawaii, surrounded by evolving beauty. Over the past 20 years I have been making and creating art out of recycled materials and marine debris. Whether its furniture, sculptures, lighting, or something unusual I'm excited to make something that will give new lite out of an old joy.
Each buoy has its own patina and scars from its journey at sea. Just as everyone has their own story, I recognize the story in every buoy I find. It is a story like a book without words. You pick up a buoy, examine it from every angle, and you're reading a book where the character goes exploring. You take in the angle of fading, a slash from a rocky shoreline and/or a bite from a fish. Every buoy is ditterent, but they all tell about the adventures at sea.
I visualize the story of the buoy and I begin to carve my own story into it. There are no patterns to tollow, I just recreate a new story to share just as the ocean shares with me.
